Anthony played keyboards with Dancer. Well-known music entrepreneur, Wilf Pine (manager of Black Sabbath and the Groundhogs amongst others), took Dancer to London to record an unreleased album "Tales of the Riverbank" at Olympic Studios in Barnes, produced by the Groundhog's, Tony McPhee.
Anthony's song 'You, Me and the Whip' had the words altered to become one of the themes of the title track of the album. Anthony Minghella and Jerry Cahill left during the final days of recording, with Minghella going off to Hull University, from where he would eventually emerge as an award winning playwright and film director.
Mike Hugg – Co founder of Manfred Mann, responsible for many of their hits including '5-4-3-2-1'. He also wrote the Likely Lads theme tune and the Ski (Full of Fitness Fruit) advert!
John Lytle – Bass player with the Accelerators.
Tim Marshall – Just returned to the island after many years of playing on cruise ships around the world. Now most likely to be seen playing bass with folk/rock band, Smoke and Mirrors.
Mick Smith – Director of Quay Arts and a musician and songwriter himself.
Stickman - Fronted by Steve and Joy Jolliffe.
John Wroath – Singer songwriter with Sporting Life.
The evening will also feature an excerpt from one of Anthony’s plays, performed by Red Tie youth theatre and performances from other surprise musical guests. Keep watching this blog for announcements!
